Behind the Scenes of Our Styled Wedding Shoot

March 27, 2026

At Ainsworth House & Gardens, we believe creativity flourishes when talented people are given the freedom to dream big, and that’s exactly what happened during our recent styled shoot at the venue.

We welcomed nearly a dozen photographers for a collaborative, design-forward experience that transformed the property into an elevated “mock wedding.” While it wasn’t a real wedding day, the atmosphere was full of creativity, collaboration, and inspiration as vendors and photographers worked together to capture the beauty of the venue in new and artistic ways.

The goal of this styled shoot was simple: give talented vendors the opportunity to experiment with bold ideas while photographers created stunning images that showcased both their artistry and the charm of Ainsworth House & Gardens.

What Is a Styled Shoot?

A styled shoot is a creative collaboration between vendors where a wedding-like setting is staged purely for photography and inspiration. Think of it as a “what-if” scenario for design, where florists, planners, photographers, and other vendors can push creative boundaries.

Our talented planner and designer, Jordyn of @jordynshyneevents, created a concept that allowed each vendor to stretch their creativity while photographers captured the results.

While these scenes were designed to inspire, they weren’t meant to represent typical wedding setups at the venue. Instead, they served as a creative showcase of what happens when talented people collaborate and dream big, and what is possible for your wedding day.

A Day of Creative Scenes

The styled shoot unfolded throughout the afternoon, moving through several locations across the property to capture a variety of looks and moods.

Getting Ready in the Historic House

The day began inside the house, where our couples were photographed in the getting-ready rooms: the Garden Suite and Captain’s Parlor. The historic interiors, natural light, and architectural details created the perfect backdrop for editorial-style portraits and quiet, intimate moments.

Front Lawn Ceremony and Cocktail Celebration

From there, the couples moved to the front lawn where a dramatic ceremony installation was staged. Lush florals and intentional design elements framed the space and made for a stunning backdrop.

This portion of the shoot highlighted the expansive lawn and the stunning front-of-house backdrop that so many couples love.

Garden Romance

Later in the afternoon, the scene transitioned to the side garden where a sweetheart table, cake display, and signature cocktail table created a romantic garden setting. A cocktail tower added a playful, celebratory touch.

The Grove offered an additional layer of texture and intimacy for portraits and detail photography.

The Pine Tree Garden and Rose Garden

The final portion of the shoot took place in the Pine Tree Garden, roundabout, and the Reception Facility patio, highlighting the iconic Heritage Ponderosa Pine, rose garden, and a mobile bar setup.

These spaces showcased the versatility of the venue and provided timeless architectural and garden backdrops.

Learning Opportunities for Photographers

In addition to capturing styled scenes, photographers also participated in two mini educational sessions during the shoot which was facilitated by the lead photographer, Kate Holt.

The Details Course focused on photographing wedding details in an intentional and editorial way, while the Model Posing session helped photographers refine techniques for guiding couples naturally in front of the camera.

These hands-on learning opportunities allowed photographers to grow their skills while working within a beautifully styled environment.

The Photos Are In

One of the most exciting parts of hosting this styled shoot was seeing the final galleries come to life, and we’re thrilled to share some of them with you.

Each photographer brought their own perspective, artistry, and eye for detail, resulting in a diverse and inspiring collection of images that beautifully showcase Ainsworth House & Gardens. From romantic, light-filled portraits to bold, editorial moments, these photos capture not only the design, but the feeling of the day.

As you browse through the images here and on our Instagram, we hope you feel inspired by what’s possible here. The details, design elements, and settings you’ll see throughout the galleries reflect the level of creativity and expertise our vendor community brings to every event. Many of these ideas can be thoughtfully adapted to create a wedding day that feels both elevated and personal.

This shoot was a celebration of collaboration, creativity, and the incredible talent behind the scenes. We hope it sparks ideas and helps you envision what your own day at Ainsworth House & Gardens could look like. Happy viewing!
