Hey, Christie!

Jason and I are getting married at Ainsworth House & Gardens next spring.

We’d love to have a fun, quirky, different wedding theme. Could you suggest unusual wedding themes?

Thanks!

–Amanda in Astoria

Hey, Amanda!

I certainly can!

What I love is seeing how creative engaged couples can be when they “think outside the box” and innovate a theme which perfectly represents the couple’s interests or hobbies.

My suggestion is that you craft verbiage which expresses your theme and gives your guests ideas on what they can wear to your wedding. The clearer you are, the more fun they will have when they know that they are completely in sync with your theme.

When you consider a theme, factor in how easy (or how difficult) it might be for your guests to find attire appropriate for your theme. When I can, I will give examples of attire which your guests may already have which could be combined to embrace your theme.
