OK, here’s where I stumped: Jenna said that she’ll have :unexpected reds” at her fall 2025 wedding like it’s a trend. I can’t find any info on this. Help? I don’t want to look like I don’t know what I’m doing.

As you probably know, many engaged couples select two wedding colors. A few years ago, some couples added an accent color. Example: If blue and green are the colors, gold, rose gold, or silver might be the accent color.
For 2025, the accent color that’s on trend is red. Often called “unexpected reds” because it’s not a color family one expects. The hue of red selected could be a bold cardinal red or any shade the couple wishes.
These unexpected reds show up in a number of diverse ways including as an accent such as:
- Sashes on the women’s dresses
- Ties and pocket squares for the gents
- Red flowers in bouquets, boutonnieres, or arrangements
- A bow on the chairs
- Red napkins or a red bow on the silverware
- Fruits and vegetables used as table decorations (e.g., a bowl of ripe, red strawberries or lush red tomatoes)
- On any printed material such as a program or seating chart.
One of the other trends for weddings is incorporating fruits and vegetables into floral arrangements, table décor, and at the mocktail/cocktail bars.
Couples select red fruits and veggies to combine the “unexpected reds” trend with this nature-based trend. Red fruits, vegetables, and vegetation include:
