We are so excited to be hosting your wedding in 2024! Collaborating with you two is so much fun!
While there are several wedding gown trends for 2024, one of my personal favorites is wedding gown separates or what is being called the two piece (2 pc.) wedding gown.
(In fact, several designs have more than 2 pcs.)
Some time ago, the huge wedding trend was for a bride to have two separate looks: a very formal, long gown for the wedding ceremony and then a shorter, party dress for the reception. When brides (and anyone else helping to pay for her dress) balked at having to buy two separate dresses with two separate price tags, wedding dress designers heard the distress call: They answered with convertible dresses. By taking off the overskirt, a cute party dress for the reception was revealed.
With a convertible dress, there was one dress with two looks and one price tag.
The other bonus is that with a convertible dress, the bride doesn’t have to take 30-60 minutes to change from one dress to the other; she removes the skirt and moves quickly to the reception! Happiness (and a degree of budget sanity) returned!
The twist for 2024 is that designers are creating a number of separates which look gorgeous with the wedding dress.
This way, each bride can customize her look. Even though two brides might buy the same dress, one bride might buy the matching neck scarf while another bride might buy the detachable sleeves and thus each has an entirely separate look!
As part of the most innovative trend for 2024, having all these options could work in the bride’s favor! These separates can give the bride two bridal looks all within one dress.
What separates are available for your 2024 wedding gown? Depending on the designer, the separates may include:
- Hoods instead of veils
- Neck scarves
- Jackets (long or short sleeve)
- Gloves
- Detachable sleeves
- Overskirts
- Transformative dress (e.g., Galia Lahav’s mermaid wedding dress transforms into a short party dress).
